BGCMB Salutes Our Veterans
As we celebrate Veterans Day, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore salutes the brave women and men who have served our nation in uniform.
Our veterans are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and friends. They have made incredible sacrifices and exhibited amazing courage in defense of our freedom. We are humbled by their selflessness and bravery. And we honor the memory of those who have given their lives in service to their country.
We also celebrate the strong connection between the U.S. Armed Services and Boys & Girls Clubs. For more than 20 years, our partnership with the Department of Defense has seen tens of thousands of the sons and daughters of military families join some 400 BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. military installations worldwide, as well as Clubs in local communities. Our Movement has been deeply enriched by this unique relationship.
As BGCMB work every day to instill the tenets of good citizenship, character and leadership in our young people, we look to our veterans, and our active-duty military, as role models. They exemplify the desire to give back to our nation through community service and civic engagement.
Today – and every day – let us salute and thank our military veterans – true heroes who inspire us all.
