Payless Gives Program Provides Shoes to BGCMB Members
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF METROPOLITAN BALTIMORE WILL PROVIDE FREE SHOES TO CHILDREN IN NEED THROUGH PAYLESS GIVES™ SHOES 4 KIDS HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAM.
Baltimore, Maryland, December, 11, 2012 —Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore is pleased to announce that we have been selected as an official partner of Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. We are among the numerous charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United States, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American countries. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore will be distributing merchandise certificates for children’s shoes to the families on our client list.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore is a committed community partner in helping to shape the lives of thousands of young children and youth through development programs and services with an emphasis on educational and prevention programming. The mission of the BGCMB is “To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”. "Thanks to the generosity of Payless Shoe Source, we are able to provide our young people with new, quality shoes this holiday season. We can't thank Payless enough for helping to make this special time of year even more special for our Club members” said Kenneth Darden, Executive Director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore.
This is the fifth year of the Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a striking number of children don’t own a pair of shoes that fit. We are working to remedy that here in Maryland.
By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore, in partnering with the Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program, hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the holidays and bring joy to as many children as possible.”
