R-A-C Tech Center Opens At Webster Kendrick Boys & Girls Club

Rent-A-Center donates new computer equipment to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland, October 4, 2007 – Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore (BGCMB) have a new computer facility to call their own at their Webster Kendrick’s location, thanks to a joint venture with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and Rent-A-Center, Inc. The recently installed “R-A-C Tech Center” houses the market’s latest equipment, including ten new computers.

“Technology is an important part of the Boys & Girls Club experience,” said Kenneth Darden, President. “The R-A-C Tech Center will attract members because it is fun and interactive, but will also help youth develop the 21st century technology skills needed in today’s competitive workforce. We at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore are so grateful to Rent-A-Center for providing this state-of-the-art equipment, and supporting the future of America’s youth.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore R-A-C Tech Center is one of four such installments designed and donated this year to Clubs across the country. Rent-A-Center, Inc. has generously contributed in-kind and cash gifts to BGCA since 2007.

“Rent-A-Center is honored to be a part of this initiative with Boys & Girls Clubs of America,” said Mark Speese, Rent-A-Center chairman and CEO. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore R-A-C Tech Center will provide youth with access to technology in a safe environment, and prepare them for great futures.”
