Thank you to the more than 40 partners that have supported ENVISION 2019.

Inaugural ENVISION Gala a True Celebration of Baltimore

On Friday, November 8, 400 friends of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore filled the American Visionary Arts Museum in support of ENVISION: An Evening Celebrating Baltimore’s Future. The night featured guests representing over 40 corporate and individual sponsors, all of whom were treated to an entertaining event from beginning to end.

ENVISION kicked off with a cocktail reception featuring mouth-watering cuisine from Zeffert & Gold Catering, and spirited selections donated by Platinum Crush Wines, local craft breweries, Tito’s Vodka, Patron Tequila, Papa’s Pilar Rum, Sagamore Rye, and Corgi Gin. In addition to each other’s company, guests enjoyed a silent auction, a STEM performance by Club Youth, and the sounds of local bluegrass talent, The Porch Setters Union.

Following the reception, supporters moved upstairs and settled in to learn more about the growth and direction of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore. The inaugural Community Catalyst Award was given to Glenn Fueston, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention, to recognize their support of our youth. Remarks were given by Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, Jessica Gappa, as well as Board Secretary, Damian Tucker. Boys & Girls Club Alumni Chick Hernandez emceed the program and former Sr. Vice President of Boys & Girls of America, Robbie Callaway, rallied guests during an energetic appeal for support.

Not surprisingly, the highlight of the night was a performance by Club members, the Dancing Divas, a special STEM demonstration, and remarks made by 2019 Youth of the Year Mo’Riyah Johnson.

The evening capped off with an electric performance by Patrick & The Swayzees. Led by Baltimore City native Les Greene, the Swayzees came up from Key West in support of Boys & Girls Clubs to show off their incredible talents, playing classic hits such as the Four Seasons’ Sherry and the Isley Brothers’ Shout, as well as creative originals.

A special thank you to all of our supporters of ENVISION listed below, with special acknowledgement to our Presenting Sponsors – Syzygy Events International, Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, and The Rick & Susan Goings Foundation.

We are already planning ENVISION 2020 – hope to see you there!

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore

Each day, more than 400 young people walk through the blue door of a Boys & Girls Club throughout Baltimore, each seeking the comfort of community, the spirit of purpose and ultimately, an opportunity.

Since being founded in 1860 in Hartford, Connecticut, Boys & Girls Clubs has grown to serve over 4 million youth in more than 4,000 Club locations nationwide. The organization has truly become a movement. By providing expertly trained staff that deliver outcome-based programs in a safe, caring environment, we bring our mission to life: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Since 2009, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore has provided safe, constructive, and life-enhancing programs for thousands of young people throughout the Baltimore region. Now, entering our second decade of service in Baltimore, our organization is experiencing an exciting period of growth and transformation. As we begin work on a new chapter in our organization’s story in Baltimore, we do so with a clear goal: provide every young person in the greater Baltimore area a nurturing place to become what they desire.
