This October, Boys & Girls Club leaders from across the Northeast Region gathered for three days of connection, learning and celebration of the life-changing opportunities that help young people discover their potential. For leaders from Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore, the conference offered valuable insights, fresh perspectives and inspiration to bring home in our Relentless Pursuit to strive for continuous improvement by showing up and being persistent, no mat

There is a difference between giving a young person something to do and giving them something new to imagine for themselves. Steve “Coach Steve” Backmon understands that difference. At the Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club, his work as Manager of Healthy Lifestyles goes far beyond organizing sports, leading activities, or encouraging young people to be active. At the center of his approach is a belief that exposure can change the way a young person sees their future.

This October marks one year since the Club’s grand opening in West Baltimore. Our anniversary video celebrates what has taken shape since: a community where young people can explore their interests, build meaningful relationships and see new possibilities for their futures.
