An invitation, and a challenge, from John Evans.

December 2022 marks the final month of John Evans' 6+ year term of service on our board of directors. In his last commitment as a board member, John invites you to join him in making a contribution to mark the occasion.

A Message from John

In my 6+ years on the board, I advocated for youth, recruited several new board and staff members—including our current chair and vice chair—coordinated networking opportunities that brought new supporters to our ranks, and volunteered hands-on in Clubs. In return, I have received so much more: a wealth of experiences, friendships, lessons, and successes that add up to unbelievable memories. You can’t imagine how fulfilling it is to give a child the access and opportunities they need to make their life better.

When I first joined the board, we faced some tough decisions to stabilize the organization and make good on our promise to the youth we served. But from the beginning, what we stand for in our mission has always given me 100% confidence we were on the right path. Now, in 2022, we are positioned to take things to the next level and serve more youth throughout MD. I am proud that we are growing and expanding.

There’s never a good time to leave a job you love, but I am confident in the strength of our team and the direction we’re headed. It’s time for someone else to get to experience the joy of service.

In my final weeks as a board member, Lori and I have one final project. We committed $5,000 to uplift Club kids this holiday season and we're looking for generous donors to match our gift. I invite you to join us by making your contribution today.

With gratitude,

John

UPDATE 12/15/22

Wow! I am so humbled by the response of my friends and family who were quick to exceed our initial goal. At their encouragement, we are raising our goal to $25,000! Thank you for showing up for our Club kids.
