ALDI Volunteers Help Revitalize Outdoor Space at O’Donnell Heights
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore, we know that meaningful Club experiences can happen both inside and outside our walls. Outdoor spaces give young people another place to connect with friends, participate in activities, explore their interests, and simply enjoy being part of their Club community.
Recently, volunteers from ALDI joined us at our Club at O’Donnell Heights for a hands-on day of service focused on improving and revitalizing the Club’s outdoor space.
Throughout the day, volunteers worked together to repaint garden beds, clear trash and debris from the surrounding outdoor area, and assemble a new gazebo for Club members and staff to enjoy.
Each project contributed to creating a cleaner, more inviting, and more functional outdoor environment for the young people who call O’Donnell Heights their Club.
For our members, spaces like these can become much more than an outdoor area. They can serve as places to gather with friends, participate in Club programming, spend time outdoors, explore gardening and other activities, or simply have a comfortable space to relax and connect.
The addition of the gazebo will also provide another dedicated space for members and staff to enjoy throughout the year, while the refreshed garden beds and surrounding grounds help create an environment that reflects the care and pride we want young people to feel when they arrive at the Club.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore, creating safe and welcoming spaces is an important part of providing young people with a place where they feel they belong. Partnerships with organizations like ALDI allow volunteers to directly contribute to those environments while seeing the impact their service can have on our Club communities.
The day was also a reminder that beautification projects can have a lasting impact. A freshly painted garden bed, a clean outdoor area, or a new place to gather can help transform how young people experience a space they use every day.
We are incredibly grateful to ALDI and each of the volunteers who spent their day investing their time and energy into our O’Donnell Heights Club.
Together, we’re creating spaces where Baltimore’s young people can connect, grow, and enjoy all that their Club community has to offer.
Would you judge a practice session by its best solve or by its averages? A cube timer with Ao5 and Ao12 keeps both visible, which gives a fuller picture than recording only the fastest attempt.
