Behind These Blue Doors: One Year of the Ravens Club
Behind these blue doors are artists, entrepreneurs, athletes and scholars. Some already know what they want to become. Others are just beginning to discover what’s possible.
At the Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club at Hilton Recreation Center, they have a place to begin—and people ready to help them move forward.
This October marks one year since the Club’s grand opening in West Baltimore. Our anniversary video celebrates what has taken shape since: a community where young people can explore their interests, build meaningful relationships and see new possibilities for their futures.
Discovering what’s possible
Inside the Club, young people have opportunities to create, compete, learn and lead. A first experience in the music studio might spark an interest worth pursuing. Time in the teaching kitchen can build practical skills and independence. On the court or field, young people practice teamwork, perseverance and responsibility.
Each experience offers a chance to discover a strength—and begin imagining where it could lead. That is the opportunity behind these blue doors: room for young people to explore who they are, alongside encouragement to keep growing into who they can become.
A home field. A place in the flock.
Through our partnership with Green Street Academy, the Club’s gym and fields also connect students to opportunities in athletics and school life. They give young people a home field where they can represent their school, support their teammates and take pride in their community.
That sense of connection carries throughout the Club.Caring mentors help young people navigate challenges, recognize their progress and take on new responsibilities. Friends give them reasons to return. Staff listen to their ideas and help them find ways to contribute.
Together, these relationships help young people build something they can carry beyond the Club: confidence in their abilities, people they can turn to and the knowledge that their voice matters.
Seen. Supported. Celebrated.
The Ravens Club’s first year is a celebration of the people making our promise real.
Our staff, families, the Baltimore Ravens and our community partners are helping create a place where young people are welcomed for who they are and valued for all they bring.
Where they can find joy, discover their strengths and be supported, challenged and trusted to lead. For Baltimore’s young people, that means more opportunities to develop their talents, build skills and relationships, and take meaningful steps toward the futures they want.
As we prepare to open the Club at Mace’s Lane Community Center in Cambridge this November, we carry that same commitment forward: more young people with access to opportunity, caring adults and a place to belong.
One year after the Ravens Club opened its doors, its story is still unfolding—in the young people discovering what they can do and the community standing behind them.
