As 2023 draws to a close, we reflect on some of the many great moments we experienced as a team. Can't wait to see what 2024 has in store!
1. Announcing the Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club at Hilton Recreation Center with a lead gift of $20 million from the Baltimore Ravens and The Stephen and Renee Bisciotti Foundation.
2. Enhancing our ability to make data-driven decisions by transitioning to MyClubHub, a universal Club management system designed specifically for Boys & Girls Clubs.
3. Beginning construction on the Boys & Girls Club at Mace's Lane Community Center in Cambridge and ending the year with unstoppable momentum toward a fall 2024 opening.
4. Exceeding our goal on Giving Tuesday to raise $26,642 from 40 donors including 27 first-time donors!
5. Renovating Clubs to ensure they are safe and inspiring spaces, including safety improvements at our O'Donnell Heights Club and the multipurpose room at our Westport Club.
6. Convening ALL our Clubs (over 500 youth and staff) for a field-day-inspired End of Summer Celebration.
7. Expanding our work in Cambridge to provide school-based programming and interventions to reduce the incidence of school violence, with a grant through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
8. Growing our team to 65 strong, retaining 90% of staff from 2022, and ending the year with zero open full-time roles.
9. Enrolling the maximum number of youth possible at all 10 locations of summer camp, including at two new sites in Howard County.
10. Gathering as a team in Annapolis for a tour of the Maryland State House and the Government House, official residence of the governor of Maryland.
