Day by the Bay: Celebrating the End of Summer Camp

As the sun sparkled on the Chesapeake Bay, more than 500 youth from Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore came together for our annual Day by the Bay — the ultimate end-of-summer celebration and the grand finale to an incredible camp season. 

The day was more than just a party. It was a gathering of our entire Club community, all united by a shared mission: to create safe, joyful, and memorable experiences for our kids. From the moment the buses rolled in, the excitement was electric. Kids cheered each other on in competitions, high-fived after games, and shared snacks under shady trees. We lined up a full schedule of activities for our members: 

• Team Games – Obstacle courses, flag football, and water relays brought out the competitive spirit and team pride. 

• Creative Fun – Face painting, bead stations, and music-filled dance circles kept the smiles going all day long. 

• Sweet Treats – Popsicles and Wawa fueled the fun (and the occasional brain freeze!). 

Behind the scenes, Day by the Bay was powered by our staff and volunteers who kept activities running smoothly, encouraged our youth, and brought their best smiles to every interaction. More Than Just a Summer Program 

Summer camp at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore is more than a seasonal program — it’s a space where kids explore, grow, and dream big. Day by the Bay isn’t just a celebration; it’s a symbol of what happens when a community comes together to invest in its young people. 

This summer, our youth discovered new talents, learned new skills, made new friends, and built the confidence they’ll carry into the school year. And thanks to events like this, they also learned that their community believes in them.
